Our sacred religion is inherently political. This forum is for discussing Catholic political activity; activity that the last Popes of our era dubbed “Catholic Action”; a form of political action which, when properly understood within the context of our current predicament, can be accurately described as “fifth-column” activity; which is precisely how the pagans of ancient Rome characterized our ancient and sainted forebears, and rightly so.

“From God has the duty been assigned to the Church to interpose resistance if at any time the State rule should run counter to religion. The Church cannot give countenance or favor to those whom she knows to be imbued with a spirit of hostility to Her; who make it their aim and purpose to tear asunder the alliance that should connect the interests of religion with those of the State.”
    —Leo XIII, Sapientiae Christianae #31.

“Whenever there exists, or there is reason to fear, an unjust oppression of the people, or a deprivation of the liberty of the Church, it is lawful to seek for a change of government; that the power of doing good may not be hindered by the license for evil which is allowed by the State.”
    —Leo XIII, Libertas Praestantissimum #43.

“Unite all your forces in combating, and use every means in repairing, the serious disorders caused by anti-Christian civilization. Seek to restore Jesus Christ to society by re-establishing the principle that human authority represents the authority of God. Strive to make public laws conformable to justice and amend or suppress those which are not so. Defend and support in a true Catholic spirit the rights of God in all things, and the no less sacred rights of His Church.”
—Pope St. Pius X, Il Fermo Proposito.

“Our admonition ‘To Restore All Things In Christ’ includes Christian Civilization in each and every one of the elements composing it. Bands of Catholics who unite all their forces in combating anti-Christian civilization: These works, sustained and promoted chiefly by lay Catholics, constitute what is generally known by a distinctive and surely a very noble name: Catholic Action. At all times it came to the aid of the Church, and the Church has always cherished and blessed such help, using it in many ways according to the exigencies of the age.”
—Pope St. Pius X, Il Fermo Proposito.

“Catholic Action is not a political party; nor does it intend to advance the political ideas of a party. Catholic Action is on a plane above and outside any political party.”
—Pope Pius XI, Public Address, 1926.

“Unless the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it. Unless the Lord keep the city, he watcheth in vain that keepeth it.”
    —Psalm 126:1.

“He that is not with Me, is against Me: and he that gathereth not with Me, scattereth.”
    —St. Matthew 12:30.

“Seek ye therefore first the Kingdom of God, and His Justice, and all [earthly] things shall be added unto you.”
    —St. Matthew 6:33.
